Gentle Folk is the Adelaide Hills boutique project of Gareth and Rainbo Belton. They craft organic, minimal-intervention wines from old vineyards, celebrating site specificity, natural yeasts, and careful, low-addition winemaking. Their ethos blends soulful, sustainable viticulture with expressive, terroir-driven results, earning them a revered position in Australia’s lo-fi wine scene. Medium-bodied and vivid, this Sangiovese opens with sour cherry, red plum, musk stick, and crushed rose petal, with dusty earth and potpourri depth. Its finely grained tannins, bright acidity, and mineral backbone are shaped by amphora and oak ageing, balancing earthiness with polished elegance. It offers youthful structure now and shows compelling cellaring potential.
